Weather in Whistler

The Whistler resort in winter is all about skiing and snowboarding, and since the season starts in the mid-November and practically lasts till April (plus glacier skiing even in June), December, January and February are the most popular months when the village is packed with visitors. November and February are the two wettest months on the coast of British Columbia. When it snows - and it snows a lot - it is a blessing! Generally speaking, the rain in the village also means snow up in the mountains, so the weather in winter is perfect for the resort of its kind.

In summer Whistler is ruled by hikers, bikers and golfers. The temperatures are moderately high as summers in coastal British Columbia are quite chilly: up in the mountains it can be cold up to a point where you will need long pants and a jacket! It also rains in Whistler, rains frequently and sometimes inconveniently, but the rain does not usually last long. In May and September the weather is at its best.

Relevant weather information concerning snow and safety of slopes is always posted around the village and at the gondolas' entrances. Current weather information for the Sea to Sky region is also available from Environment Canada online at Environment Canada's website.
