Whistler
Whistler Village lays nestled in a valley between Whistler and the Blackcomb mountains in British Columbia. Located in the south-west of Canada, it possesses unique climate conditions for a mountain skiing resort. In winter temperatures are mild ranging from -8 C to +3 C in January, with occasional unusually cold or warm days. The extremely high level of flurries (up to 10 m of snow cover!) is ideal for all kinds of winter sports - snowboarding, skiing, cross-country skiing and just playing in the snow. Exceptional weather conditions and first-rate care of slopes also create a very long skiing season – Whistler resort is open to boarders and skiers from mid-November to the end of May, and true enthusiasts can also enjoy glacier-skiing up to the end of June!
In 2010 Whistler proved to be an excellent host for one of the most spectacular and highly anticipated sport events – Winter Olympic Games. Now that the Games are over, visitors of Whistler have a unique opportunity to ski and snowboard where Olympic athletes competed for glory and medals in 2010.
