Whistler
Whistler Village lays nestled in a valley between Whistler and the Blackcomb mountains in British Columbia. Located in the south-west of Canada, it possesses unique climate conditions for a mountain skiing resort. In winter temperatures are mild ranging from -8 C to +3 C in January, with occasional unusually cold or warm days. The extremely high level of flurries (up to 10 m of snow cover!) is ideal for all kinds of winter sports - snowboarding, skiing, cross-country skiing and just playing in the snow. Exceptional weather conditions and first-rate care of slopes also create a very long skiing season – Whistler resort is open to boarders and skiers from mid-November to the end of May, and true enthusiasts can also enjoy glacier-skiing up to the end of June!
In 2010 Whistler will be the main stage not only to infinite winter fun, but also to one of the most spectacular and highly anticipated sport events – Winter Olympic Games. For more details on skiing, snowboarding, having fun and staying in Whistler during the Games see our Winter Games 2010 page with accommodation specials, rates and travel tips!
